U.S. District Judge Lorna Schofield found that John Sarcone was unlawfully appointed to the Northern District of New York. Sarcone had ginned up an investigation into James for her successful lawsuits against Trump and the National Rifle Association, but Schofield barred Sarcone from prosecuting or supervising an investigation of James.
