11:53Now PlayingAttorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian revisit MAGA Muppet Mike Lindell, who has launched a campaign for governor of Minnesota from the MyPillow factory in Shakopee. Lindell — $10 million in debt by his own testimony, already found liable for defaming Smartmatic with $1.5 billion in damages headed to a jury trial this fall — raised $352,000 in his first two and a half weeks and spent more than half of it buying copies of his own autobiography from MyPillow, the company he founded and still controls as majority shareholder. His platform: cut taxes, reduce crime, improve education, protect family farms — generic promises with no policy behind them. The Smartmatic damages trial will be overseen by the same Judge Jeffrey Bryan who is currently threatening the Trump administration with criminal contempt over ICE violations. The judge has already ruled Lindell liable as a matter of law, meaning the jury will only decide how much he owes. Lindell says he's broke, has no money to self-fund, and 52% of Minnesota voters view him unfavorably. The attorneys file this under blind faith in Trump that has cost Lindell everything — his fortune, his credibility, and now possibly his freedom from billion-dollar judgments.
