In this episode of Legal AF, Ray Brescia talks to Brad Wendel, the Edwin H. Woodruff Professor of Law at Cornell Law School about the ethical complaints filed against Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche in the weeks before his expected confirmation hearing before the Senate Judicial Committee on July 15th and 16th. Professor Wendel’s teaches and researches at the intersection of law, philosophy, and ethics and he is the author of Canceling Lawyers: Case Studies of Accountability, Toleration, and Regret published by Oxford University Press in 2024. Brescia and Wendel discuss the ethical complaints filed against Blanche in New York State that raises serious questions about his fitness to practice law and explore some of the possible scenarios should the New York State courts take disciplinary action against Blanche, even if he gets confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
