London hosted a huge demonstration against two-tier policing at the weekend. It was peaceful, diverse and good natured - but you wouldn't know it from the media coverage of "nazis", "far-right hooligans" and "thugs".

I genuinely don't understand this. A media that looks the other way when people chant for jihad or the extermination of Israel, somehow sees a bunch of Brits singing songs as the greatest evil facing our society.

I came of political age in an era when Tommy Robinson was seen as the apotheosis of extremist bigotry. I never really questioned it and assumed that as everyone was saying it, it must be true. But with these people (and me, and some of my friends) smeared as far-right, it makes me wonder - does he deserve this badge?
