This week I saw three pretty horrific examples of indoctrination of children. Two were books - one related to refugees, one to race - and one was a weird video about cultural appropriation.
The race book claimed that white men invented the idea of race (although how could the people who invented race be white if race didn't exist?) and that fat people are ugly (ok, we did invent that).
The refugee book was co-created by the British Refugee Council and presented their utopian ideals about refugees as fact - refugees make the UK rich (they don't) and all British people have roots in other countries (people arrived in Britain 950,000 years ago so those are pretty long roots.
This book also unwittingly corroborates the supposedly debunked far-right conspiracy theory (personally, I don't believe anything unless it's a debunked far-right conspiracy theory) that mass immigration is replacing Britain's dwindling population.
But the most sinister thing is that this book comes with a classroom activity for children to write to politicians. This book press-gangs children into becoming unpaid lobbyists for the charity behind it. This charity receives £7.5m a year in taxpayer funding - then spends this money lobbying the government.
Weird.
And a video about cultural appropriation by an Irish school shows how susceptible kids are to this bollocks.
As Lenin said, "Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted".
Sensible people need to reassert themselves in the education system.
