New sentencing rules almost introduced a two-tier justice system in Britain - a soft touch for ethnic minorities, Muslims and women, and punishment for straight white men.
Equality before the law? Not any more. This sets a terrible precedent - future administrations can now plausibly change the rules to be racist against any group they want. It's trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist. And even if it did exist, countering racism with more racism is a terrible way to fix it.
No wonder even uber-woke Labour had to say, “maybe not this time.”
