Slavery wasn’t ended in America because of morality. It ended because it was economically obsolete. Automation increased productivity in the North and its economy pulled away from the stagnating, slavery-dependent South.

150 years after the abolition of slavery, the same logic as slavery applies. Immigration props up lazy business models that avoid investing in the future. We didn’t abolish slavery; we just gave it a passport. The modern plantation doesn’t have fields; it’s a Deliveroo rank.
