The government is banning social media for under-16s, to "protect children".

But if protecting British kids is a priority, why don't they ban illegal migrants? I'm not saying Instagram is great, but I've never seen it drag a kid from the swings in a playground in Nuneaton and subject it to a terrifying assault.

And won't this just push kids to use VPNs or burner phones or even seek out the local noncer to use his gnarled face to bypass the facial scanning age verification?

This isn't about kids - this is digital ID by the back door. Adults will have to scan their faces and enter personal info to get online. And tech companies have a history of collaborating with leftwing governments (eg the Hunter Biden laptop scandal).

With facial recognition technology used at protests, the government will be able to clamp down on dissent online and offline.
