themselves as “less religiously conservative” than older generations. Results indicated “people
who described themselves as religiously conservative was 7%, down from 32% in 2008” and
fasting during Ramadan has declined from 77% to 65%. With trends like this it seems Turkey’s
youth is starting to turn away from religion.
