Tash, a prominent critic of Islam, has faced multiple attempts on her life due to her controversial activism, which includes public preaching and provocative actions such as displaying cartoons of Muhammad. The latest threat emerged when Edward Little, a British Muslim convert, was arrested in an armed counter-terrorism operation, just moments before acquiring a firearm intended for Tash's assassination at London's Speaker's Corner. Despite Little's conviction and an increased 24-year prison sentence, Tash continues to feel unsafe, articulating her vulnerability and determination in a powerful quote: "I don’t feel safe at all,” she said. “There are lots of other individuals (who might be) planning or thinking the same thing... I’m not brave, But…you’ve got to make a choice. Do you want to deal with it, or you just want to just keep quiet. And shut down? Once they know they have (silenced you), they can stop you. Then it’s a win for them. But they’ve been winning quite a long time. I don’t have much to lose.” Tash's ordeal underscores the ongoing threats faced by those challenging religious extremism and advocating for free speech.
