While not matching the secular standards of France—a country I greatly admire for its staunch secular policies—Israel still stands out in its region. This isn't to say it's perfect; indeed, I wish it embraced a higher level of secularism akin to France, or the robust free speech observed in the United States.

However, Israel's existing level of secularism is a core strength. It's what sets it apart and supports its status as a strong, resilient country. This comparative advantage is crucial in understanding Israel's unique position on the global stage. Is it enough? Not yet. But recognizing Israel’s achievements in fostering a relatively secular society in a predominantly religious region is vital.
