35:09Now PlayingA startling report has exposed that the U.S. government, through its foreign aid agency, USAID, is still funneling billions of taxpayer dollars to organizations allegedly tied to Hamas and other extremist groups, raising alarm over oversight and national security. USAID, the United States Agency for International Development, is tasked with distributing foreign aid and promoting humanitarian assistance abroad. However, a recent list released by the State Department shows that over $2.5 billion in active USAID grants are going to groups previously linked to Hamas’s charitable network—a network many analysts say helps the terror group maintain control in Gaza by operating under the guise of humanitarian work. For example, the Norwegian Refugee Council, accused of cooperating directly with Hamas ministries, is set to receive $270 million, while the French group ACTED, which allegedly partners with Hamas-linked organizations, has been granted $403 million. Even U.S.-based and international charities like Save the Children, World Vision, and ANERA have received millions in funding despite reported associations with groups promoting antisemitic or pro-terror messages. The revelation follows years of concern from watchdogs and policymakers about how foreign aid can be diverted to bolster regimes and groups hostile to American interests. “A sprawling bureaucracy created a system more beholden to radical political ideology than advancing America’s core national interests,” warned Secretary of State Marco Rubio. While over 5,000 awards were cut under a past effort to shut down parts of USAID, nearly 900 remain active, prompting serious questions about whether the U.S. is still unintentionally bankrolling terror in the name of aid.
