Israel's Dilemma: Hamas' Strategy with Foreign Soldiers

Deploying multinational troops into Gaza may sound like a peace move, but it hands tactical advantage to Hamas. Once Egyptian, Indonesian, Emirati, or other foreign soldiers are embedded in Gaza, Israel’s rules of engagement change dramatically. Any Israeli response that risks harming those soldiers would trigger intense diplomatic fallout, and Hamas would exploit that to regain leverage. The hostages’ role is effectively replaced by foreign soldiers.
