In this discussion I respond to people who say that talking about Islamists using migration is “just a conspiracy theory” and explain why I don’t think there’s a secret master plan in a dark room, but also why that doesn’t mean there’s no problem. I break down how Islamist movements can spread organically, like a kind of Darwinian evolution of memes, while at the same time some groups (like the Muslim Brotherhood and certain states) try to intentionally ride and amplify those trends. We also get into October 7, the protests that followed, and the difference between people who use Islam for power and those who use power for Islam.
