5:33Now PlayingThe celebrations you are witnessing from Iranians inside and outside of Iran mark a historic turning point. After 47 years of brutal oppression, the killing of Ali Khamenei has lifted an unimaginable weight off the shoulders of an entire nation. And this is just the beginning.
There are so many more celebrations to come. We are looking forward to the day the Islamic Republic finally falls, the return of Prince Reza Pahlavi to Iran, and the moment Reza Shah's body is brought back from Egypt. We are celebrating the future establishment of our first transition government, the drafting of a new constitution for a free, secular, and democratic Iran, and the foundation of our new parliament. Depending on the will of the Iranian people in a national referendum, we may even see the crowning of our king in a constitutional monarchy.
While we are still in the middle of a revolution and the work is not yet completely done, the Iranian people deserve this moment of joy. For decades, they have fought and sacrificed, proving to themselves and to the world that they deserve so much better than the tyranny of the Islamic regime. They are some of the best people in the world who were forced to live under the absolute worst rulers.
This milestone is the direct result of the relentless sacrifices made by the Iranian people, especially during the uprisings in early January and the events that followed the call to action by Prince Reza Pahlavi. These brave boots on the ground proved that regime change was possible. We also deeply acknowledge the assistance from the Americans and Israelis, who helped remove a massive obstacle from our path. While the Iranian people would have achieved regime change one way or another, the cost in human lives would have been astronomically higher without this help. The new Iran will never forget this support, and our histories are now tied together.
Most importantly, we must understand the true depth of these celebrations. When you see Iranians dancing, singing, and shedding tears of joy, they are not just celebrating for themselves. They are celebrating on behalf of our fallen heroes. So many brave Iranians who took to the streets to fight Islamic tyranny left messages behind, asking us to dance, sing, and celebrate if they were taken from us. Today, we are fulfilling their final wishes. We celebrate with extra heart because we are smiling, hugging, and singing for those who sacrificed their lives so we could be here today.
