As Iran’s air defenses seemingly collapse, the Islamic Republic has resorted to a shockingly desperate tactic: deploying Basij volunteers on mountainsides as "human radars" equipped with primitive radios to spot incoming drones and jets. But the regime's desperation goes far beyond archaic military strategies. Following a wave of over 30 targeted assassinations of IRGC intelligence officers in Sistan and Baluchestan, the regime is rapidly losing internal sovereignty and has begun importing foreign terrorist mercenaries—specifically the Afghan Shia proxy group, Fatemiyoun—to lock down cities and violently suppress Iranian citizens. With hostile foreign militias now occupying Iranian streets using militaristic surveillance, a critical and highly controversial question emerges: Is the only remaining path to freedom the direct arming of the Iranian people before the regime initiates a full-scale civil war?
