34:49Now PlayingLast week, Trump fell in love all over again with a dictator responsible for the death and dismemberment of an American journalist. His trip through the Middle East (with Elon in tow, for some reason) was marked by pomp and gifts, deals, and bargains from leaders of countries who are, at minimum, friends with our enemies.
Take the lifting of sanctions on Syria. However you feel about the sanctions, it’s hard to watch Trump shaking hands with Ahmed al-Sharaa, the country’s new leader, who only recently had a $10 million bounty on his head because of his ties with Al Qaeda and imagine Trump knows what he’s doing or with whom he’s doing it.
And that’s what Bobby Jones is focusing on this week in the latest Anchor Watch. Thoughtful, engaging diplomacy is good. Taking massive bribes from people who don’t like us is … not good. While some deals might be neutral to positive, the net is an enrichment of Trump himself at the cost of American safety.
