For decades, he has pioneered techniques for reconstructing past climate patterns, most notably creating the famous 'hockey stick' graph. He serves as Director of the Penn Center for Science, Sustainability and the Media. He has authored several books on climate change including 'The New Climate War', 'Our Fragile Moment', and most recently 'Science Under Siege: How to Fight the Five Most Powerful Forces that Threaten Our World' with fellow climate scientist, Peter Hotez.
The current political climate is toxic for the climate of Earth. Dr. Mann says that even 15 years ago, even people like Lyndsay Graham agreed that we needed to take actions to mitigate the worst climate outcomes. But we are rapidly moving in the wrong direction.
