These experts posit that this matter could eventually fall within the purview of the Supreme Court to validate their viewpoint.
The basis of this argument is articulated by William Baude, a law professor at the University of Chicago, and Michael Stokes Paulsen, a law professor at the University of St. Thomas. Their analysis is presented in a comprehensive 126-page report. They assert that Trump's endeavors to overturn the 2020 presidential election are tantamount to an "insurrection." This interpretation leads them to conclude that Trump's potential candidacy for the presidency again, as per the 14th Amendment, could be deemed unconstitutional. Unless he secures permission from both the Senate and the House of Representatives by a two-thirds majority, his eligibility to run for the White House could be compromised.
