The scion of the Kennedy political dynasty is planning to make this announcement on October 9th in Philadelphia, according to Mediaite. A Kennedy campaign insider explained, "Bobby feels that the DNC is changing the rules to exclude his candidacy so an independent run is the only way to go."
Kennedy, a 69-year-old environmental lawyer and activist, hinted at a "major announcement" in a YouTube video, where he criticized "corruption" in "both parties" and pondered, "How are we going to win against the established Washington interests? It’s not through playing the game."
Kennedy Jr., who initiated his 2024 campaign in April, has purportedly been contemplating a third-party candidacy for several weeks.
