6:02Now PlayingVice President Kamala Harris's track record on major issues is already causing problems for House Democrats as the 2024 general election approaches, according to a report. Harris quickly emerged as the presumptive Democratic nominee following President Joe Biden's unexpected exit from the race on Sunday, a move influenced by a covert pressure campaign from top Democratic figures.
Although the shift to Harris was driven by concerns that Biden's presence at the top of the ticket was jeopardizing Senate and House races, Republicans are already linking the “border czar” and her policies to vulnerable Democrats in key districts, as noted by CNN.
With Harris now the frontrunner, the National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC) is targeting at-risk House Democrats by associating them with Harris’s record on pivotal issues specific to each state.
The NRCC is focusing on Harris’s stance on fracking in Pennsylvania races, her border policies in southwestern swing districts, and her vulnerabilities on crime in Minnesota and Oregon.
NRCC national press secretary Will Reinert told Breitbart News on Tuesday that Harris represents “a swing-district Democrat’s worst nightmare.”
“Kamala Harris allows GOP campaigns to talk to voters with surgical precision about how she would make their lives worse with her dangerous San Francisco liberal policies,” Reinert stated. “Harris’s 2019 primary campaign for president is a Republican ad maker’s dream and a swing-district Democrat’s nightmare.”
CNN reports that the NRCC is highlighting Harris’s anti-fracking stance in Pennsylvania’s seventh and eighth congressional districts, currently held by Reps. Susan Wild (D-PA) and Matt Cartwright (D-PA).
“There is no question I am in favor of banning fracking,” Harris said at a CNN town hall event during her unsuccessful bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, as Breitbart News noted Monday.
