Donald Trump labeled Kamala Harris "a bum" and joked about mispronouncing her name. Trump, like many Republicans, has deliberately mispronounced Vice President Harris's name, causing frustration among some liberals. Speaking at a West Palm Beach event for Turning Point, Trump mocked the pronunciation issue and declared Harris "worse than Joe Biden and in a true sense much more liberal," while noting he'd pronounced her name correctly.
Trump continued to berate Harris, expressing disbelief over liberals' recent support for her despite her record. "She was a bum three weeks ago, a failed VP, in a failed administration, with millions of people crossing, and she was the Border Czar," he stated. He also criticized her for skipping Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to Congress, accusing her of disliking Jewish people. This accusation stands in contrast to the fact that Harris's husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, is Jewish, and Harris held a one-on-one meeting with Netanyahu on Friday. Harris became the presumptive nominee for president earlier this week when Joe Biden announced he would not seek a second term. The correct pronunciation of Harris's name has been a topic of discussion since she was named Biden's running mate in 2020, with Trump often saying "Ka-MAH-la" instead of the correct "KA-ma-la."
