President Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance, criticized the Democratic Party, accusing them of orchestrating a "coup" against President Joe Biden. The GOP ticket expressed their views on Biden's declining health and his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, stating that if Biden is unfit to run for re-election, he should not continue serving his term.
During an interview with "Primetime" host Jesse Watters, Trump and Vance emphasized that Biden's exit should not solely benefit the Democratic Party. When questioned if Biden’s withdrawal constituted a removal.Trump subtly agreed, while Vance elaborated on the constitutional implications, referencing the 25th Amendment. "If Joe Biden can’t run for president, he can’t serve as president," Vance asserted, urging that any concerns about Biden's capability should be addressed through proper constitutional procedures.
The interview was recorded before the news broke that Biden was endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the new Democratic nominee. Vance had previously voiced similar sentiments on social media, arguing that Biden’s inability to campaign should disqualify him from remaining in office.
