🔴 Trump Announces Agreement to Debate Harris on Fox News in September
President Donald Trump announced late Friday night on social media that he has agreed to debate Vice President Kamala Harris on Fox News next month. The debate is scheduled for September 4, at a yet-to-be-named location in Pennsylvania.
In his post on Truth Social, Trump mentioned that a previously planned debate with President Joe Biden on ABC News had been canceled following Biden's campaign suspension. He attributed the cancellation to his ongoing lawsuit against ABC and host George Stephanopoulos.
"I have agreed with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "The debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated as Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Stephanopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest."
Fox News has confirmed that the debate will be moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum and will follow similar rules to the June 27 debate between Trump and Biden on CNN, but with a live audience.
Vice President Kamala Harris has stated she is ready to debate Trump and accused him of backpedaling from the initial agreement to debate on ABC News. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who is considered a leading candidate to be Harris's running mate, echoed these sentiments, suggesting that Trump was avoiding the debate out of fear.
