A recent poll conducted by Media Research Center (MRC) and McLaughlin & Associates reveals that a significant portion of President Joe Biden's 2020 supporters, particularly independents and Democrats, are largely unaware of Vice President Kamala Harris's past "radical" policy positions. The survey, which included 400 independents and 800 Democrats, indicates that 71 percent to 86 percent of respondents were unaware of Harris’s stances on various contentious issues, such as supporting the elimination of private health insurance, promoting bail funds for violent protesters, and considering the abolition of ICE. The findings also highlight a considerable gap in voter awareness, which MRC attributes to legacy media outlets’ failure to adequately cover these aspects of Harris’s record as she attempts to rally Biden’s 2020 coalition for the upcoming election. Notably, the poll shows that a majority of respondents rely on broadcast and cable news as their primary sources of election-related information, with 50 percent citing broadcast television and 41 percent pointing to cable news as their top sources.
