President Donald Trump rescinded 78 of former President Joe Biden's executive actions with a single signature on Monday night. These actions span various policies including the termination of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, changes in southern border policies, and climate-related mandates. Trump declared, "I can undo almost everything Biden did, he through executive order. And on day one, much of that will be undone," as noted in a White House fact sheet shared with Breitbart News. Among the actions reversed is Biden's inaugural executive order titled "Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government," alongside several other racial equity directives. Trump emphasized his intent to eliminate all DEI programs across the federal government. On border policies, Trump aims to undo Biden's orders that reinstated catch-and-release practices, stopped deportations of criminal illegal aliens, and provided benefits to undocumented immigrants. Concerning climate policy, Trump is overturning Biden's electric vehicle mandates aimed at phasing out gas-powered cars, along with other measures like emissions standards, the cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline, and restrictions on drilling and permitting. Trump vowed, "We’re going to have a great border, we’re going to have more energy than you’ve ever had, and we’re never going back." The order also requires a review of Biden's executive actions, suggesting potential policy rollbacks that might lead to economic adjustments. According to a Fox News report from Sunday, Trump plans to sign over 200 executive orders on his first day. He has already implemented policies to prevent federal censorship, end the weaponization of government agencies, withdrawn from the Paris Climate Accords, frozen hiring for federal civilian positions, and instructed agencies to hold off on new regulations until they receive approval from his appointed department heads.
