Former President Donald Trump accused Vice President Kamala Harris's 2024 campaign of illegally funneling money to celebrities, including Beyoncé and Oprah Winfrey, in what he claims is a violation of campaign finance laws. Speaking at a rally in Michigan, Trump alleged that the payments were hidden in “consulting fees” and were meant to boost Harris’s image through coordinated public appearances, endorsements, and social media engagement.
Trump’s comments follow growing speculation that Harris, not Joe Biden, may lead the Democratic ticket in 2024, as questions about Biden’s health and viability continue to dominate headlines.
“They’re paying off Beyoncé, Oprah — all of them,” Trump told supporters. “It’s a rigged game. You can’t use campaign money to buy fake love from celebrities and call it legal.”
According to unnamed sources cited by Trump and right-wing media outlets, the Harris campaign, operating through affiliated PACs and third-party consultants, allegedly paid seven-figure sums to entertainment figures in exchange for favorable press and orchestrated appearances. No direct evidence has been presented publicly as of yet.
The Harris campaign has denied the allegations, calling them “absurd,” “unfounded,” and “yet another example of Trump’s obsession with powerful Black women.”
A senior campaign official told reporters, “We’ve followed every rule and law to the letter. This is classic Trump projection. If anyone knows how to skirt campaign finance laws, it’s Donald Trump.”
Despite the denials, the accusations have fueled demands from House Republicans for a formal investigation. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has already hinted at holding hearings if more details emerge.
