MUST WATCH: Bicyclist Blake Rides Through FOAM BLOB in Santa Clara, Gets Lost in Foam - FNN

Blake the bicyclist rides through the massive foam blob in Santa Clara, CA.

(KTVU-TV) A giant foam blob has filled a street in Santa Clara. The foam is coming from a building, Signature Flight Support Hangar 7, on Martin Avenue. A KTVU crew is told the foam appears to be some type of fire retardant. A witness told KTVU the fire system malfunctioned when the foam was released. The foam is blocking several businesses and has completely covered some cars in the area. Police are at the scene. There seems to be confusion about what to do next, and how to remove the massive amount of foam from the street. Meanwhile, a man on a bike said he couldn't resist the foam. He plunged into the foam on his bike. "Yeah, someone had to do it. We were on the other side and the officers over there were like 'you should ride through.' And I was like, 'OK you guys don't mind?' So we decided to do it," he said. The man, who said his name is Blake Harrington, said the foam felt like soap. As he went into the foam he disappeared for several minutes, but later reappeared covered in foam. Harrington said he tried to stand in the middle of the foam but couldn't. He said it was about 10' deep. He added he ran into a sign at one point.Harrington said he was told the foam was not toxic before he made the decision to bike through it.After his ride, and covered in foam, Harrington said he was returning to work this afternoon. After Harrington's adventure into the foam, crews put red tape around the foam to prevent others from doing the same. At this point, additional details have not been released.
