15:22Now PlayingRecuse crews in Allentown, Pennsylvania worked for hours to free a man who became trapped when a trench collapsed on Jan. 11, 2023.
First responders were called to the area of West Gordon and North Fulton streets around 2 p.m. for reports of two workers people in a collapsed trench.
Allentown Fire Department Captain John Christopher spoke to the difficulty of the rescue, he said crews had to work methodically. Using buckets and hands to dig out the trapped man because heavy machinery would have been too dangerous.
