12:27Now PlayingThe Titanic tourist submersible is still missing after being reported overdue Sunday. The U.S. Coast Guard says the search for OceanGate Titan has now covered 10,000 square miles and the passengers are running out of oxygen.
Dr. Salvatore R. Mercogliano, an adjunct professor at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, says the lack of heat at the depths of the Titanic wreckage could play as big of a factor as the lack of oxygen.
The submersible was bringing its passengers to see the wreckage of the Titanic, about 12,500 below sea level, when it went missing some 435 miles south of St. John's, Newfoundland.
