16:40Now PlayingPolice in Las Vegas provided an update after responding to an active shooter on the campus of University Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).
The LVMPD Sheriff said three people were killed in the shooting. One injured victim is recovering at the hospital. The suspect is also deceased.
Police said they know the identity of the shooter, but will not release it until family members are notified.
Police received reports of a shooting on campus at 11:45 a.m., LVMPD & UNLV Police responded simultaneously. The sheriff said the shooting started on the fourth floor of Beam Hall and continued through several floors before the shooter was shot and killed on the exterior of the building
University police now say UNLV will remain closed for the rest of the week. Additional determinations will be made as to whether the university will reopen next week, which is finals week for students.
