The airline said in a statement, "Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased." Captain Shem Malmquist, Boeing 777 captain, aviation safety investigator and an instructor at the Florida Institute of Technology weighs in.
Boeing airplanes have been experiencing similar issues over the past few months, another Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane (Flight LA800) also plummeted several thousand feet abruptly and had to make an emergency landing in March.
