Biden, who is vaccinated and boosted, will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate. Meantime, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the president’s physician, said Biden has received his first dose of Paxlovid and his symptoms include a runny nose and a cough. The president was slated to speak at the Unidos event in Las Vegas.
The news comes amid widespread questions about Biden's health and cognitive abilities after a rough performance in last month's presidential debate against Donald Trump. Several House Democrats have called on him to drop out of the 2024 race.
