29:49Now PlayingVice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made a speech to their supporters during a campaign rally in Glendale, Arizona. Over 15,000 people attended the event at Desert Diamond Arena, according to the Harris campaign. The stop is part of an electoral battleground tour for Harris and her newly-chosen running mate.
Much of Harris' speech in Arizona focused on border and immigration.
“We know our immigration system is broken, and we know what it takes to fix it," Harris said. "Comprehensive reform.”
At one point during the rally, pro-Palestine protests were overridden by chants of USA. Harris then addressed the protesters, saying, “I have been clear. Now is the time to get a ceasefire deal.”
Harris also spoke about Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, who was reportedly on her running mate shortlist.
“As Arizona knows, Mark is an extraordinary leader," Harris said. "He always fights for the people of Arizona."
Harris’ background, youth and choice of running mate have put several battleground states, including Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin, back in play.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump was headed to Bozeman for a rally in support of Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy, who is challenging Democratic Sen. Jon Tester.
