JD Vance 'strongly suspects' he'll be at Oct. 1 debate against Tim Walz | LiveNOW from FOX

Donald Trump's running mate JD Vance responded to an invitation by CBS to debate Kamala Harris's running mate Gov. Tim Walz during an interview on FOX News Channel.

"I strongly suspect we’re going to be there on October the 1st," Vance said on "The Ingraham Angle."

Vance also said he wants to look at details and rules to make sure he won't, "walk into a fake news media garbage debate."

Vance's comments also came hours after the Democratic candidate for vice president, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, agreed to the debate in a post on "X."

Tim Walz re-posted the CBS News graphic, saying "See you on Oct. 1, JD."

A Harris campaign official said, "Harris for President has accepted CBS' invitation to a vice presidential candidate debate on October 1. Governor Walz looks forward to debating JD Vance — if he shows up."

According to CBS, four dates were proposed: Sept. 17, Sept, 24, Oct. 1, and Oct. 8.
