Gaetz has been the subject of several scandals in recent years -- including a house ethics investigation into alleged sexual misconduct with a minor. Some lawmakers, like Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, are expressing their doubts.
"Like I said, I just it's just this is truly I mean, you know, they have had serious appointments. Like, I'm a big fan of Rubio. I mean, we're we're different politically. Stefanik, I just saw him, my colleague from Missouri, Eric Schmidt, he was the AG from Missouri. He would have been a solid pick," Fetterman said. "Then you put out someone like that, then it's just nothing but trolling."
