Following Yoon’s announcement, South Korea’s military proclaimed that parliament and other political gatherings that could cause “social confusion” would be suspended, according to the government-funded Yonhap news agency.
The Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire remains intact but fragile as both sides have claimed the other violated the truce agreement. President-elect Donald Trump has said there will be "all hell to pay" if the remaining 100 hostages held by Hamas terrorists are not released prior to him taking office on January 20, 2025.
A federal judge dismissed the gun case against Hunter Biden on Tuesday after President Joe Biden issued a sweeping pardon for his son. U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika closed the case the week before Hunter Biden was to be sentenced. He could have faced up to 25 years in prison, though as a first-time offender he likely would have gotten far less time or avoided prison entirely.
A Hawaii woman who vanished after landing in Los Angeles three weeks ago disappeared voluntarily as she sought to “step away from modern connectivity” and was last seen crossing into Mexico with her luggage, police said at a news conference where they urged her to contact her distraught family. Hannah Kobayashi, 30, appeared unharmed as she walked alone into a covered walkway at the San Ysidro crossing about 125 miles southeast of Los Angeles around noon on Nov. 12, the day after her family reported her missing, LA police said Monday. Authorities made the discovery after reviewing surveillance video from U.S. Customs and Border Protection late Sunday.
