UnitedHealthcare CEO murder suspect, Luigi Mangione, will fight extradition to New York City, where he faces a murder charge in the shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

My client will not waive extradition today," his lawyer Thomas Dickey said.

Mangione was denied bail Monday. He will stay at SCI Huntingdon in Pennsylvania until proper paperwork is filed.

Blair County District Attorney Peter Weeks provided the latest information following Mangione's extradition hearing. Weeks says he’ll work with New York officials to try to return suspect Luigi Mangione there to face charges.

“We believe their charges take precedent,” Weeks said.
