as posted by the channelPresident Biden and Vice President Harris were among those briefed Monday on the response to the ongoing deadly wildfires in California. They were joined by FEMA officials and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. In a statement Monday, Biden said he's being frequently briefed on intensive efforts to suppress the wildfires across Los Angeles, and has directed his team to respond promptly to any request for additional federal firefighting assistance. At my direction, hundreds of federal personnel and unique federal aerial and ground support has been sent to California to support the firefighting efforts and help communities in need. The deadly Palisades and Eaton fires are still ravaging the region, killing at least two dozen people.
