He appeared at the Rx and Illicit Drug Summit, which featured an audience that included substance use experts and treatment providers. Kennedy Jr. also highlighted his own fight with heroin addiction and suggested a cell phone ban in schools as a way that could help prevent fatal overdoses. He called addiction “a source of misery, but also a symptom of misery.”
