On Monday, members of the Trump administration held news conferences with a focus on the border policies that have been implemented since the start of the president's term. A press release from the White House Communications office states, in part, that since President Trump took office, he and his administration have ushered in the most secure border in modern American history.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detailed an average of 787 arrests a day from Jan. 23 to Jan. 31, compared to a daily average of 311 during a 12-month period that ended Sept. 30 during the Biden administration. The agency has since stopped publishing daily arrests totals.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt spoke with members of the media on Monday to discuss the outcomes of the administration's border policies.
