YouTube Description
as posted by the channelCalifornia Governor Gavin Newsom is proposing a plan to cut back on health care benefits for immigrants living in California without legal status. It's part of an effort to close the state's $12 billion deficit. Newsom presented his revised state budget plan during a news conference Wednesday in Sacramento.
California was among one of the first states to extend free healthcare benefits to all poor adults regardless of their immigration status last year, an ambitious plan touted by Newsom to help the nation’s most populous state to inch closer to a goal of universal healthcare. But the cost for such an expansion ran $2.7 billion more than the administration had anticipated.
