11:54Now PlayingAt least three people are dead after a business jet crashed into a San Diego, CA neighborhood, according to new information from a music agency.
Sound Talent Group said that three of its employees, including co-founder Dave Shapiro, died on the private plane that crashed.
Shapiro is listed as the owner of the plane and has a pilot’s license, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Shapiro also owned a flight school called Velocity Aviation and a record label, Velocity Records, according to his LinkedIn page.
“We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends. Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today’s tragedy,” the agency said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, officials said two people were killed and at least eight others were injured when a plane crashed into a neighborhood just before 4 a.m. on Thursday morning. The crash igniting fires in homes and cars, causing panic among local residents. At least 15 residences were affected, many of them being military families.
Authorities have not yet confirmed how many people were onboard the plane when it crashed, though the two confirmed deaths are presumed as passengers. The plane — a Cessna Citation II (C550) twin-jet aircraft — has a capacity that ranges up to 10 people.
