3:15Now PlayingDiddy's defense lawyer requested a mistrial on Wednesday, which the judge quickly rejected. Sean 'Diddy' Combs' attorneys said prosecutors tried to imply that Combs interfered with the Kid Cudi investigation in 2012.
During cross-examination, arson investigator Lance Jimenez doubled down on what he believed started the car fire that damaged Kid Cudi’s Porsche.
Jimenez testified that his opinion is that the bottle got dropped from the roof, struck a seat, the wick came out and the bottle deposited some of the gasoline in the Porsche, creating the burn pattern.
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo asked if finding the glove would have been significant. Jimenez told the jury it would not have been significant if the glove belonged to the owner.
Jimenez claimed he does not recall when he reached out to Diddy’s assistant, Capricorn Clark , or Cassie Ventura regarding the car fire or whether it was before or after the DNA report came back. He said he reached out and left messages. At one point, Jimenez got Capricorn's brother on the phone and got into a verbal confrontation with him. He testified he was able to contact Cassie’s father, a firefighter, but never heard from Cassie.
Jimenez claimed he did not do any further investigating on the glove once he learned it belonged to Kid Cudi.
