The TSA said it expects to screen nearly 17.4 million people between August 28th and September 3rd. The agency The agency says it screened 17.1 million people during the same time period last year.
The surge in travel this year could be spurred on by lower domestic travel costs. Prices for flights, hotels and car rentals have dropped compared to the weekend last year.
