4:29Now PlayingWe are now learning that Sinclair Inc., which owns several ABC affiliates, said it will not be airing Jimmy Kimmel’s return to late-night. This comes after earlier news that indicated ABC reinstated Kimmel's show after suspending it because of controversial comments made after Charlie Kirk’s killing in Utah. From just outside the studio where Kimmel films his show, LiveNOW’s Mike Pache is getting the latest updates from Fox 11 LA’s Christina Gonzalez.
"Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming," the company said on social media. "Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return."
"This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney," FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said on the Benny Johnson podcast. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to take action on Kimmel or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."
