2:43Now PlayingA federal judge heard arguments Thursday over the legality of President Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois. The state and city of Chicago sued, calling the move unconstitutional and politically motivated.
"Not even Alexander Hamilton could have envisioned one state's militia to be used against another state's residents because the President wants to punish those with views other than his own," the judge said.
In granting the temporary restraining order, Judge April Perry ruled that the deployment violated the 10th and 4th Amendments.
