We are learning more as tens of millions of Americans may be forced to choose between buying food and paying other bills as federal funding for SNAP benefits runs out because of the government shutdown. Payments to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could be suspended if the government shutdown continues or a judge doesn’t step in to stop the cuts.
Tuesday will be election day for millions of Americans, as New York City residents decide who will be their next mayor - Zohran Mamdani, Curtis Sliwa or Andrew Cuomo. Races for governor are also happening in New Jersey, where Jack Ciattarelli takes on Mikie Sherrill and in Virginia where it's Winsome Earle-Sears versus Abigail Spanberger.
