Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo made a statement shortly after the results were announced.
We have heard reports that President Donald Trump has followed this race closely. President Trump frequently dismissed Mamdani by labeling him a ‘communist’ and has said he would possibly withhold funds from the city if the Democrat were to win. He endorsed Cuomo on the eve of the election, bypassing Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
