The man charged in the second violent stabbing on a North Carolina light rail is in the US illegally and was previously deported several times, Fox News Digital reports via the US Department of Homeland Security.

Online records at the Mecklenberg County jail in Charlotte show Oscar Solarzano faces several charges, including attempted murder. No bond was set due to his immigration status.

The first attack was back in August when Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee was fatally stabbed on a light rail while on her way home from work. Decarlos Brown, Jr. was charged in that deadly attack.
